Monthly Visits

Visiting the orthodontist on average every 4-6 weeks is an important part of your orthodontic treatment. Regular checkups last between 20-40 minutes. Our practice will work with you to make sure that your appointments are scheduled around your busy schedule, so that you will spend less time in the dental chair and more time enjoying the things you love to do.

“Braces-Off” Appointment/Retention

When active treatment is finished, we comfortably remove the braces, clean off glue left behind, and polish your new smile. Then the doctors will discuss the appropriate retainer to keep your teeth straight. It is a good idea to schedule an appointment with your general dentist for a check-up and cleaning once braces are removed. The retainers are typically worn full time for 3-6 months after treatment, and then night-time only wear is recommended. Retention is for life, so if your retainers become lost, broken, or no longer fit, we’ll be happy to see you at any time after the braces are removed to get you back on track.
